Stupidly, most people wanted him gone. All I'm saying is that Mark Thompson was in the same boat at the end of 2006. Only a strong board kept him.

What we've done is cut a very good coach aside and put everything in one basket. At the same time, we've ditched another (almost) 1 mill in payments to guys who aren't going to be there and paying 1 mill for a new coach.

Good business sense? I don't think so.

You can't just sit and hope Ratten turns out like Bomber Thompson imo. Smart move.

Look at Carlton's list now and compare it with Geelong 2006. Chalk and Cheese. While I don't necessarily believe it was Ratten's fault that the Blues underperformed this year Carlton is a club that has to be seen to be 'doing something'. A bit too much trumpteting and not enough players looking cricitcally at their own performance...perhaps the one similarity between the club and Geelong in 2006.

It's obvious that question wasn't discussed before the taping. I'm sure Eddie didn't have an influence....... You can say what you want but in my job if I told my boss I suspect this could be another example from the blokes next door, but he's had a chance already and in business terms he's ****** up (numbers never lie) my boss would then ask me "if he **** up again will you fork out the losses?" he'll no! Get the emotion out of it, it's cut throat and these blokes are paid accordingly.

Our list is fine. Depth is an issue but we're top 6 material without any problem if fit.

Pardon?

Sorry, I'm not a lemming and wont see things through rose coloured glasses just for the sake of it.

Last time I checked this is a forum and people are allowed to have their opinion.

I've said before, I will continue to support the club, I just think the decision is stupid.

Compare it with Geelong's list in 2006 and it is not fine. This is why your 'Geelong review' comment doesn't really apply to Carlton 2012.

Why would you want to be top 6 if top 4 is the key to a premiership? With all the draft picks Carlton have gotten in previous times if you are aiming for anything less than top 4 with all of Carltons resources then what a waste of time.....
