What about today now that he knows the price ;)
That is a ridiculous fine...... Punishment does not fit the crime!
Half that would have been more than enough.

Ouch...!

Fairly harsh really. He made a bad mistake in a presso. He apologized for it. Was it worth 30k? Not so sure.

Precedent was set when Hird was fined $20k in 2004 for a similar offence

Correct Jim. Hird's 20 meant Scott had to be minimum 25.

$5k but the difference was the club didn't know Hird was going to say what he didn't sanction it.
Apparently North got the $50k fine because Geoff Walsh relayed the story to Scott so in affect the club instigated it

7 out last 8 years of profit since JB took over, actually one of the stronger clubs now financially with bugger all debt.

As for the fine, bit over the top...but he will pay it and get a $30k pay rise next year :D

I don't wanna say I told you so, but I was smashed on here for even suggesting north might fall out of the top 4, and they are now 7th...

Having said that, it's going to be super tight from here on. Quite a few games that are in effect worth 8 points.

The makeup of the eight is very interesting

North will not make top 4, they have West Coast ( A ), Port, Collingwood and St Kilda under the roof, then finish with the glorious run of Bulldogs, Hawthorn, Sydney and GWS. They'll win 2 or 3 of the last 8. 4 absolute tops.

I honestly don't mark off future games as W's/L's & whilst ladder predictors are fun, they're simply guess work.
Sundays game v West Coast is massive, should get Wells, Waite & possibly Anderson back.
Quietly confident this week.

Good chance against WCE and will start favorites in the next 3 games and possibly the bulldogs game, would expect a minimum of 3 wins in the next 5 with a chance of winning them all.

Waite, Wells, Anderson all to come back this week and Higgins, Jacobs not far away will assist big time.

Eagles have a 4-5 goal umpiring advantage before a ball is bounced especially if Margetts is doing them again. North will need to be good to get over the line
