1. He wanted to go home.
2. Carlton's backers and administrators weren't his fault.
3. He served his suspension for the gouging incident.
4. Probably lucky with the Pavlich hit.
5. A humble and well spoken winner.

Bitter much?

Just stating facts. Besides wasn't he going home to Melbourne the team he followed as a kid?

No, he was going home to Melbourne, the place where he grew up. Speaking of growing up........

Swan looked like a spoilt brat that had his toy taken away. Then straight on to his phone and looked to be txt’n. What a sore loser.

Well done Judd a humble winner.

I think- Swan was nervous as all ****, as the Media made him a red hot favourite, & he didn't look comfortable dealing with the pressure.

Swan looked very nervous, but he was still robbed!

 to the people who took the $1.70 on offer for Swan to win.

Were they all unaware of a bloke called Pendelbury?

He won't make 3 because the umpires made fools of themselves last night and will mark him far harder in future.

Yep oops, my bad .. Hope he does make it 3 though, has been a brilliant footballer, perhaps those bitching and moaning about the result forget that sometimes.

Um no. I saw an interview with him and footage of him strolling around Melbourne's training ground when he first came back.
"Very excited to be back here in Victoria and with a chance to play for the club I followed as a kid etc....." And then the meeting with Richard Pratt was arranged and......
Again just stating facts.
Being told to grow up by someone from the Sturt Cheer Squad....the irony is killing me ;)

I like Dane Swan as a footballer and these are some points that may give his fans some comfort re the Brownlow:

- he polled better than ever before
- the sharing of votes with Pendlebury vindicates the "champion team, not a team of champions" tag

When people talk about Swan the first thing they say is his fitness ("gut running"). He runs and runs and runs and gets lots of possessions as a result. No one else can keep up with him. I have heard him described as untaggable. These are all positive compliements. He'd be a huge asset to any side. However, to be brutally honest the Brownlow isn't about the best, fairest and fittest.

So, given he has Pendles to compete with and given he arguably doesn't have the same natural talent as an Ablett or a Judd then his 24 votes could be seen as terrific achievement and make him not too far away from winning one.
In between signatures .....

History is littered with blokes who were 'robbed' of the Brownlow. In the end I'm sure all Swan cares about is getting the premiership medal on Saturday.

Quite right REB. Gazza was thinking the same thing for next season when he's at the Gold Coast.

Umpires are a mob of white maggots.

Judd should do the right thing and hand back the medal to the AFL and pass it on to someone who actually had some competition in their side

The MVP is like the Cox Plate and the Brownlow is like the Melbourne Cup.
The best horse in the nation wins the Cox where quite often a scrubber gets up in the Melbourne Cup despite it being worth more money and prestige.
