AFL IS another step closer to being played at Adelaide Oval, with the SANFL and SACA signing letters of intent to signify their commitment to the half-a-million dollar project.

So am I. Nevertheless, I intend on going there this season during a Shield match and take as many photos as possible to remind myself of something which could be admired.

I'm not going to take photos at a packed house. I'll probably get some strange looks. :)

Still not 100%. SANFL and SACA needed something in writing by yesterday to get the Governments money.

The latest rumour is that they will use the same methodology as applied to the Southern Express Way so to reduce costs.

It will be a one way stadium with both teams kicking to the same end :D

Some great pics there. That stand is going to be impressive.

If/when the rest of the ground gets redeveloped the ground is going to look spectacular.

I reckon the architects have done really well in preserving the character of the ground with this stand. Looking forward to watching a game of cricket (and eventually AFL footy there).

Hopefully they can continue that with the rest of the development.

The new Stand is just as impressive on the inside. Quality fittings used throughout. ;)

The members bar* enclosure is top notch and the members will have plenty of food/drink stalls along with ample mens/ladies facilities.

I last went through two weeks ago and will be there in Tuesday for another look around. Agreed, it matches the original "flavour" of Adelaide Oval perfectly.

In my last visit to site the boom lifts were half way up the top tier of the stand with the men inside working on the roof panels...

Not for me.
