good get for Sydney I reckon. I would have had him inside the ten, but clubs had different thoughts on their needs. Kid happy to move too, which always helps.

His bio is: 18 on March 3 next year, 193cm and 84kg. Tall forward who is quick on the lead, has strong hands and is solid in a contested situation. All-Australian U18 after providing excellent target up forward for SA. Led the NAB AFL U18 Championships for contested marks and ranked 3rd overall for marks taken. His NAB AFL Draft Camp results were impressive, particularly his running vertical jump of 89cm which had him second to Nick Naitanui. AIS/AFL Academy Graduate. From Port Bulldogs FC.
Roger Woodcock -- 602 goals from a forward flank makes you a legend.

Which is a good pick up, although it was pretty much sign sealed and delivered. Hes what the Eagles really need at the moment. So a very good pick up.

Also on good pick ups, I think port did well with there 22nd pick. Good pick in my opinion.

Not exactly what we need at the moment. But was the best player (or has the most potential) available and will be a excellent player in a few years. Still needs a bit of work and IMO will find himself spending a fair time up forward in the next couple of years.

WCE did very well picking up Swift at pick 20 as well who has had 2 knee injuries but is a brilliant ball winner one of the best i have seen at finding the footy.

The midfield is going to be full of talent and pace in the next 2-3 years.

Emma Quayle put this article together ranking the clubs for draft performance:

http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/news/w ... 44733.html

Her top 3:

1. West Coast
2. Adelaide
3. Western Bulldogs

Honourable mentions: Port Adelaide, Collingwood, Melbourne.

Points of note:

- Michael Walters a steal at 53 for Freo
- Trengove a good get at 22 but foot skills an issue and may be the reason clubs like Hawthorn passed up
- She was tempted to rank Adelaide No. 1 due to their tricky picks but feels the Eagles gathered the best group of overall talent
- Teams best placed to prosper in the Gold Coast years: Hawthorn, Geelong, Bulldogs, Collingwood, Essendon, Adelaide, Carlton (interesting that she doesn't mention the Power; is she part of the group who thinks their list isn't well-balanced?)

Only time will how close to the mark she is.

His kicking is a massive concern. But putting that aside, Hawthorn badly wanted a key defender (they drafted Schoenmakers with the hope of him developing into a key back) and they even overlooked Trengove who was meant to be one of the gun defenders in the draft. The clubs must of have some cocnerns over his kicking/body.

From memory, she had 14 of the first round in correct position, from her prediction piece in the days before the draft, so her info from the clubs was good.

Either that or Hawthorn simply rate Schoenmakers a better prospect. I've never seen Tregrove play so I can't comment, but Schoenmakers looks as though he will fit into the Hawthorn style very smoothly.

Let me cast doubts into the Power fans' minds. ;)
