Blue Boy

I do not have an issue with supporters and members raising issues and opinions, this is what footy generates and hopefully clubs provide a forum for members to view their opinions and concerns.

I am also not hiding the fact that the crows like all clubs, have in the past and will in the future make poor decisions.

However, I do have an issue with Supporters or Members that put individuals before the club, and than walk out on the club, I make no excuses in Branded these types of supporters as Fickle and Football uneducated

I personally did not agree with the Robert Shaw appointment, however, I continued to be a paying member and supported the club during this period...

Individuals come and go, whether they are players, coaches or administrators, however the club will always be there.....

No club needs suppporters or members that walk out on a club becaause they don't like the fact a certain coach was appointed or player was de-listed..... I do not refer to these people as supporters, they are followers

To those Club supporters, I say, keep challenging the club, raise your concerns, however, no matter what, at the end of the day, turn up and support you club, as it will it will still be their in 50 years time, however some of the faces will change

I know I am a bit late on this but sydney-dog ot sure where you got this from
"Mattner - He wanted a contract extension from Adelaide, the Crows refused to negotiate until the end of his contract, so Marty accepted security in a three year contract with Sydney"
My mail is no talks even took place- Adelaide just didn't want him!

Down&Out

Mate the Swans offered Marty a 3 year term, the crows position was they would not offer Marty a contract extention until the end of 2008, this would of obviously depend on his 2008 form...

Based on the Crows position, Marty jumped at a 3 year deal, he has rightfully put his security first

I'm not doubting your information SD, but i think Down&Out comes from the same regional area as Mattner, so may have some first hand information as well.

I am not saying any talks took place

their is no need for any talks to take place, Marty was contracted next year, the Crows advised Marty's manager that they will not discuss an extension of term until the end of next year

so yes, this was the trigger for Marty to leave, obviously if the crows wanted him they would of initiated talks with Mart's Manager and offered an extension to fighht off Sydney's challenge

we are all saying the same thing

I wonder when offloading Mattner, the Crows thought the Symes deal was as good as done as well. The Mattner deal was done very early on, so were they extremely confident of getting Symes based on talks even before trade week?? Not saying anything wrong there, but it does appear to have been a certain inevitability to the Symes to Crows trade all year.

Don't assume the Crows have Symes picked as a direct replacement for Mattner. I'm a big fan of Marty's........ Sad to see him go IMO.
To those who have seen Symes play for Centrals.......... they understand his talent and see the risk/reward involved in THAT trade. If Symes lives up to his talent potential then 2007 will be seen as the year the Crows lured a 200 gamer away from Port. Sadly........... It SHOULD be remebered as the year we traded one 200 gamer (Marty) for a draft pick. I hope we get someone good for that pick!
Choco Williams Lives!!! We have seen the REVOLUTION come and go. You have "LIVED THE CREED". All you Power people are now gonna have to "KEEP THE FAITH". Slogan for 2010-11 PAFC.....or is it PAPFC.......I never get it right.
