Umpires bouncing disgrace.

Talk on the national game

Umpires bouncing disgrace.

Postby mal » Sat Sep 23, 2006 8:26 pm

I have thought for years about Umpires throwing the ball up
instead of bouncing the ball.
We witnessed that diabolical centre bounce in the AC V WC final
in that last quarter which did not bounce and went sideways and
straight to a WC player...and a goal resulted........
Nearly 30 weeks of football disintigrated for the AC team just
on one lousy bounce up as they conceded momentum to WC.

I say throw the ball up, make it fair.
There might just be some good umpies out there who cant bounce the ball.

I assumed since it was probably the worst bounce I've seen in my life that they can't recall it in the AFL?
If they can that umpire should be sacked.
If they can't that umpire should still be sacked.

That certainly was the worst bounce I've ever seen, especially at AFL level. What was even more amazing that it wasn't recalled - it favoured one team more than the other - West Coast!!

You guys are blaming your loss on one lousy bounce? How about putting on the blame on your players, who were simply not good enough to match it with West Coast.

We know WC are a better team PAP, but we are discussing an appalling incident.
Only PP +WC supporters enjoyed that bounce!

I never blame a loss on anyone else but the players. Trying to find a scapegoat elsewhere is just a cop out. West Coast deserved to win, no doubt, but this particular topic is about a disgraceful bounce, not the match as a whole.

Sometimes I wonder about you PF.

I will post this one more time just for you and I will put it in capitals
to save confusing you.

WEST COAST ARE A BETTER TEAM THAN ADELAIDE.

And one more time in capitals just for you.

THE BOUNCE IN THAT LAST QUARTER WAS DIABOLICAL.

And in Capitals........WHO GIVES A F***. You are saying that it cost AC the game. Read your 1st post again.

St Kilda supporters are a sad bunch when they are actually making up excuses for other teams unsuccessful seasons.

I read my original post it maybe misleading as I was making
a point AC conceded momentum to WC after that bounce.[ not actually saying it cost them.]
I am fairly sure that WC would have won the game regardless.

PF, I suppose you will say the bounce was fair?
Nah Your not that stupid, surely :?:

I read my first post as well and didnt see St Kilda mentioned in it. :?:

My advice for you is drink some Chamomile tea and calm down, theres a
lot more to life than following my posts in different rooms and sniping me

PF what a stupid statement that the crows are blaming the loss on a centre bounce, Mal only said that it gave momentum to WC which i seroiusly doubt that the crows going to be able to stem the flow from there. WC played better in the last half and showed why they finished top this year. Injuries were against Adelaide esp Biglands that one really hurt us.

I agree that is was a shocking bounce and i have never seen a centre bounce like that and probably never see it again. I hope the umpire's coaching panel take a serious look and improve their procedures regarding this issue. It astounds me that these umpires are about to turn professional full time umps and they cant even bounce the f**kin ball right

anyone that knows me will realise that i absolutely HATE the F***IN CROWS but that bounce was so bad i was watching the umpire to see if he was going to recall it!!!!!!!

it would have to be the worst bounce ive seen and its being highlighted because it happened at a crucial stage of a crucial match.

west coast were the dominant team in the 2nd half and should have won by more, but ADELAIDE were doing ok in the centre in the last 1/4 and it may have made things more interesting if the bounce was a 50-50 contest.

IM GRATEFUL THE BALL WENT TO A WEST COAST PLAYER THEN FOR A GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!! MY WALLET IS SUBSTANTIALLY HEAVIER NOW.

who was the umpire? might send him a x-mas card!!!
