Jimmy Stynes = Champion bloke

Talk on the national game

Jimmy Stynes = Champion bloke

Postby Bum Crack » Fri Jul 09, 2010 1:41 am

I was watching the footy show tonight and saw the Jimmy Stynes interview and it makes u realise how good a bloke the guy really is. I've seen him a few times before on a Melbourne game and the poor bastard looks like he's on his death bed, but he always puts on that brave face. He's just that type of bloke u don't wish a bad thing to happen to and I really hope he beats his disease and gets to watch his mighty demons win a flag. All credit to you you Mr Stynes. I take my hat off to you mate.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Yep. Agree wholeheartedly and seeing him on there and seeing him at games with 80 staples in his head makes me want to go out and buy a Melbourne membership purely because of him. At no stage is the bloke thinking about himself or his problems. Its all about his family and his footy club. Lets hope he pushes on for a very long time [-o<

Yeah I agree Champion bloke.
Doesn't seem to seek the limelight like some other Presidents.
Just goes about being himself. The way he is handling himself with his current ordeal has achieved more praise and respect for not only himself but also the Melbourne Football Club.
Apparently he wants to extinguish the Melbourne debt which was/is $5million by the end of this year - as if he hasn't got enough on his plate.

Yeah, I watched that to. He's a champion bloke, puts everyone and everthing before himself and works hard for his beloved Melbourne football club.

BC - you are on the money there.
If you ever get the chance, have a chat to Jarrod Loxton about him. The bloke is an absolute champion for his club and has been so welcoming of Jarrod and his kids who are passionate Demons supporters.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Great day for Gentleman Jim today. He sat on the bench and spoke with commentators all day on a day when Melbourne showed they have a real future. Good on him.

I thought this would probably the most relevant thread....

Watching the footy show tonight i must applaud shane crawford on his run for breast cancer.

For the larrakin that he is i think what he has done shows the true character of the man and you can see what this means for cancer sufferers and their family / friends

Well done shane crawford!!!!

I could not think of anything more motivational then what they showed last night

The part where it was on the coach and he said something along the lines
"do you know who is in there bed sitting up watching you, Jimmy Stynes, so get out there show him"
Something like that,if that doesnt get ya pumped or get the most out of you, I dont think anything would!!

Both Stynes and Crawford are true champions!
get on board the thunder train!!!

He's the reason why I'd love to see the Dees be successful.

A humble, courageous champion, who was a very very good footballer too.

Agreed.

Top Shelf effort by Crawf and having Jim on the same show had Mrs G in tears.

Some ripping TV!

Even Sammy had a tear in his eye last night. It just shows how close he and Crawf are despite the facade they put on each week.
