as much as i like rex, i hope this is not true. really enjoyed listening to BT, JB and garry lyon last season on triple M. I think rex would wreck that combination

The game moves too fast for Rex's calling style nowadays.

You've hit the nail on the head

By the time he's done his bit the ball is down the other end of the ground

I always found his commentary style irritating but obviously many felt otherwise

I sometimes really like Rex, then othertimes think he's a bit of a tool. He can act really poorly in the post game show, show no tolerance or respect to the callers.

Can't stand Rex Hunt. When he calls a match its all about Rex Hunt and not about the game. I last about three minutes tops when he calls a match.

That is how I see it as well - very ordinary caller who lacks respect for the game and its players IMO

And wait for it - he's on a one year contract as they are reportedly grooming Hamish MacLachlan for the top job. Blander than bland caller - how this guy has burst into prime footy media is the biggest nystery since Amelia Earhart.

Spot on. Even his press conference the other day was full of praise for himself.... Gotta know when it's time to go I think...

Big win by 3AW here....Brayshaw, BT and Gary Lyon had a really good chemistry on MMM that IMO Rex will not fit into. BT could adjust to 3AW style though.

I know I will be listening to 3AW now, not MMM

Spot on. Take-Myself-So-Seriously Lyon will struggle with Rex. Taylor, on the other hand, can do serious and vaudeville in equal measure.

Taylor and Cometti - why would you do Hunt and Brayshaw???

I appear to be one of the few who actually likes Rex, was the only reason I listened to AA during footy season, glad he has found a new home, he and Brayshaw if they work together could be a humorous combo.
Trust the process.
