Round 8: Brisbane vs Adelaide

Tough trip for the Crows, they usually play fairly well against the Lions and at The Gabba.

But this time around, i can't see them winning there.

Brisbane by 30+ points.

Brisbane will probably win because Brown / Bradshaw will get on top of the Crows..
30+ is a big call HOF.. i'm expecting the Crows to be competitive (they are 3-0 on the road this year) and get within 15 points... might be worth an investment either team under 24.5 or under 15.5 for a result..

Reckon we're a good chance to get up this week. Not that I've watched Brisbane that much this year but from what I hear, it's still very much a case of being able to cover Brown and Bradshaw. If you believe the AFC's claim that Rutten is unhindered then he has to make a top-notch account of himself eventually, because he's too good a player not to. I'm backing him to cover Brown, and for us to lend enough support to Stevens or whoever else matches up on Bradshaw in Bock's absence. Their ruck division is depleted which bodes well for Tippett and our other options who would be a bit down on confidence.

Going to be a tough game for Crows this week. Bock is a big out again but gives someone else an opportunity. Stevens will have to go back and this might be what he needs to run back into some form. Keys to winning for the crows is midfield pressure. Tackling and pressure on the ball carrier is the key because if they have time and space to lace out JB and Bradshaw then no one will stop them! I expect a tight battle, from recent memory we have a pretty good record against them (i could be wrong). Would'nt mind seeing Johncock or Otten up forward..

Outs - Goodwin (injuried)

Ins - wouldnt mind seeing a brodie martin or rory sloan if ready, Gallman if fit or Jacky given a game, blood another younster!

Burnt too many of my tips on the Crows already this year, I think it will be too hard without Bock and Goodwin. Brisbane by about 35 points.

That said, this type of game is tailor made for a young fella to step up and show what he's made of.

Agreed, Bock and Goodwin are the back half generals and without them they are shot.

Bradshaw would be rubbing his hands together at the prospect of having Stevens stand him. Bradshaw will be way too strong. I think Rutten ( clearly not 100% ) wont have it in him to run with Brown so Rutten will go to Bradshaw and who knows who will stand Brown.

Which ever one gets Rutten expect them to play up the ground and try and give him the run around.

I think Otten may take Bradshaw. Strength wise he will be to strong but that will be the same with stevens..... I think Otten has really shown some good signs and would back him in to do equal job as what stevens could do

Would NC play Otten that close to goal though, he provides some decent run out of there ... Unless NC pulls a surprise and tries Moran on Brown, then I'd reckon Rutten gets the job and Stevens takes Bradshaw - Pretty stock standard I know.

Brissy's defence is looking pretty tidy these days too, which is another concern ... Midfield battle is always crucial, but the Crows simply have to find a way to win it this weekend if they are to have any chance.

Rutten will start on Brown as always, but the way Browny has been covering the ground lately I wouldn't expect Rutten to last the entire match on him. Bradshaw is probably harder to beat in one on one marking contests than Brown (which is hard for me to say seeing Brownie is my man crush), so without Rutten on him he'll clean up. Brissy by 4 goals, but here's hoping for more.

Be good if Rhan Hooper is back this week for an added goal sneak.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Moran start on Brown and Rutten on Bradshaw with Stevens up forward. Problem is the way Rutten is moving at the moment he won't be quick enough for either of them.

The inclusion for Goodwin will be interesting to see who is considered next in line. Sloane played better for North last week but still looks a step off the pace even at SANFL level, and Gallman has yet to return to the league side. I thought Martin was only rookie listed at this stage as well? Perhaps Jacky will get a run or Myke (my parents can't spell) Cook back in.

It would also be good to see one of Johncock or McLeod start forward as both need something different for a lift of confidence.

Brisbane should win, therefore the Crows probably will.

For the crows to win its very simple:
Tippett needs to fire up and win the taps, and hence adelaide get first use of the ball through the middle and around the clearances. Yep thats about it, of course that probably the game plan for about 100% of teams that play football. But yeah thats pretty much where its going to happen.

Perhaps start with Moran and Stevens back and Rutten at full forward.
I'd like to see it tried anyway, and I don't think it will make much difference this week if it doesn't work.
