Geelong vs Bulldogs

Postby blink » Thu Apr 20, 2006 9:52 am

Who does everyone think will win this game? Before Geelong's game on Saturday against the Hawks, I was pretty confident that I would be tipping them, but after the flogging they copped, I am not so sure....

Bulldogs do have a few injuries though.

Catters should have too much height for the Dogs I think. Also would be keen to bounce back from a disastrous performance last week.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Often games are talked-up as being the "Game of the Round" etc and turn out to be a landslide win for one of the teams.

Hopefully this does not happen this week, and the team that I eventually decide to tip wins! Do agree with Booney though, the Cats probably have too much height, and can match the Dogs in leg speed. Should be a ripper!

Two fast running sides - no real great number of key position players of any size.
Last week Geelong suffered not because of form but because of the Hawks, and previous results.

I would compare the weeks before last week to each other, rather than last week.

Kingsley, kicking straight under the dome's roof, should get a bag although I feel this is the Cats only way to win. There's no Stephen King this week either which almost makes the ruck dual a nil all draw considering there's no Mincin.

Last time they played, the Bulldogs kicked 20 goals to the Cats 14 at the same ground, basically the same conditions. A Typical Dom result really - and I wouldn't be suprised to see the same number of goals kicked this week. If Geelong are second to the ball like they were against the Hawks, they stand no chance.

Whoever wins, it will be under 3 goals. No Scarlett still so in the battle of the domesticated pets, I'm leaning towards the Dogs.

Geelong should win, Hawthorn have always played well down in Geelong don't ask me why but those hawks have always had that second home feel down there. The bulldogs will be a tough side to beat because of skills and form but losing two ruckmen this season will not help their cause. Ottens needs to fire this week but we do have the ruck stock without King having Mooney aswell as Ottens. It is time for Brad to repay the Cats faithful with his skills and to prove he is worth the money the cats are paying him.

WTF?? Er, no..and I don't want to bet either. Too many out for the Cats and the Bulldogs are a bit of a bogey side for us. I reckon Wedgie's water is a worry and he might have been to the well once to often. I'm leaning towards the Dogs but haven't done my tips yet.

I'll take the Cats, even with their outs .. Should have the exuberance and pace to match up on the Doggies as well as anyone .. Having said that, I'm bottom in all of my tipping comps and this could be the reason why!! :?

OUTS

GEELONG

King
Kingsley
Riccardi
Harley
Playfair
Scarlett

BULLDOGS

Darcy
Minson
Morgan
Walsh
Williams
Hargreaves

UNDERDONE/NOT FULLY FIT??

GEELONG

Egan
Kelly
Wojinski
S.Johnson
D.Johnson
Ottens

BULLDOGS

Giansiricusa

We're screwed. Part of the reason we lost to the Hawks is we had too many underdone and we came up short against a side prepared to run hard (as the Bulldogs will do). I tipped the Dogs and you should too! The only factor for the Cats is that the Dogs have played four straight at the Domea55 and apparently this takes a bit of sting out of the players legs, which would negate their greatest strength.
