I thought the same about going there but having been forced (seriously it would have been less painful to die of some foreign flesh eating disease than say no) Thailand actually turned out to be a pretty good holiday. The first few days were the hardest just getting used to all the harassment from the suit sellers etc. but once you get the hang of that it's fine. You can get quite a bit of entertainment just egging them onBooze and food is seriously cheap too.
They also have the best Italian Restaurant i have ever been to. Roma's it is called. Lasagne is my favourite food but Roma's ruined it for me cos i know i can never get a better one again. My life now revolves around affording to go back to Patong Beach just for that lasagneThe same night i had that lasagne i had a large pizza and a garlic bread and bruscetta

I ate there 3 times whilst we were there but i wish it was more.
