what will be there nickname?

The AFL have short listed: Giants, Stallions, Rangers and Pride.

Your thoughts? what should they be called?

I think they'll go it alone and just go with GWS, Greater West Sydney which is a bollocks idea for AFL but then this is a bollocks idea in the first place.

So to summarise, NO nickname.

If they go for 'Pride' I think they could do a lot of membership marketing at the Mardi Gras...

The ground is too small for an AFL team (besides Port, who probably still wouldnt fill it)...

I think its ideal. They know their limtations and so are going to have a full home ground with great atmosphere for all of their home games. Not like so many sides playing infront of small crowds in BIG venues.
Im sure they will be getting more than the Power anyway with the stadium deal ;)

Its a pretty good looking ground...and would probably suit more to a second tier competition league like SANFL or VFL...but for them to make the sort of money from home games that AFL teams need, unless they sell out most games, I dont think they'll be able to do it and the AFL will be propping them up for a fair while.

Are they going to play home games at Blacktown, or is it where the new side will be based. I thought they were going to play at the Olympic stadium.

whats the go with names they can't use? i understand that rugby sides etc mean there are some restrictions but what are they exactly?
