Bone(head) on FOX last night

Postby Rik E Boy » Fri Sep 22, 2006 8:40 am

Did anyone check out Chris McDermott on White Line Fever last night?? The Bone dared to appear on national television wearing a shirt so bad that I wouldn't have worn it during the 1980's during my Ferris Bueller phase. The rationale behind the shocking shirt was that Crows have no chance of beating the Eagles and that West Coast is going to win by five goals and you just couldn't see Adelaide winning the game so why not go out in a blaze of 'glory'.

No, this isn't (yet) another REB Crow bashing thread..all of this rubbish came straight out of the mouth of Bonehead himself. According to the head (and what a head it is), it's all over for the Crows. While it is true that West Coast have the wood over Adelaide in recent matches, this time Adelaide have had a week off and regain the services of a couple of key players, and as it has been pointed out to me this week..what a bonus to have the Birdman back in action. True, West Coast have won the last two encounters at Girlee Stadium, but by a handfull of points only on each occasion..hardly a ringing endorsement of dominance. Craig is the better coach and West Coast have lost Wirrpunda who delivers a lot of drive out of the back half for this match.

I'm not all that sure why so many are prepared to write a rested Adelaide off so easily. I reckon Chris will be looking even more foolish next week and be faced with the impossible task of finding an even worse shirt to wear for next weeks WLF. I hope it matches his red face

regards,

REB

ps - What's the g.o. with McGregor? Surely he should be in the Crows team!

Firstly,I didnt see his shirt, but if you wouldn't have worn it,it must have been a stinker...

Secondly,McGregor, according to John "Im a surly old bastard" Reid,is battling for one of three spots currently held down by Bock,Stevens and Perrie. Now,am I missing something,or did Nathan Bock get gifted some talent some time during this season,as McGregor is a better player on one leg than Bock, and I think most Crow fans would agree. It seems the Crows are not willing to change a formula that has delivered 2 wins in the past 7 weeks.Stevens in playing above himself, and if any one wants to argue with me,look at his spasmodic career path over the last few years,in and out of average teams, while Adelaide were flying 10 weeks ago,his spot in defence was made easier by the midfields dominance. This week a big one for him.Perrie must get picked as he is Adelaides best option a CHF,not a match winner on his own,but he "straightens them up" as they say.

Perhaps a trade is on the cards,Kingsley to Crows,McGregor to Port,Thurstans to the Catters?

Do you want Kenny Boon?
Interesting!

Yes, I think Kenny is a better player than Bock. But, I think that Bock has improved a LOT this year. He has some qualities, or abilities, that Kenny doesn't and adds something different to the side.

Haha, this is true.

FWIW, If Kenny and Toby both played to their potential - Toby would easily be the better player.
He just ... doesn't.

And Kenny has clear finger nails.
