In other words, whenever AFL players want to sell books or plug businesses, they appear on footy shows and receive tens of thousands of dollars worth of FREE publicity ... something the average schmuck in the street cannot get. If they want to earn even more money, they can get their faces plastered over tv sets and magazines plugging products.
AFL players have doors opened to them that most of us can only dream about. It's the trappings of their office. In return for this position of privilege, they must subject themselves to public and media scrutiny. It's part of the deal, so if the players cannot handle it, they should go get a real job and find out what tough times are really all about.
