ADELAIDE has taken disciplinary action against first-year draftee Darren Pfeiffer, sending the promising defender back to Norwood indefinitely.
Crows football operations manager John Reid said Pfeiffer - who was taken with pick 17 at the 2005 national draft - had breached the club's standards "off the field".
"He's got to get his form right but there were a couple of indiscretions about standards off the field which need to be addressed as well," Reid said. "They weren't big indiscretions but they were enough to say, 'Go back and get yourself into the Norwood side. While you're doing that have a good think about what's required to play AFL footy'."
Just a day after Adelaide cut Glenelg utility Tom Redden from its rookie list, Reid said he was confident Pfeiffer - who has recently overcome a back injury - would bounce back.
