I doubt DeLuca was ever given enough game time to develop.
Who is going to ruck when Lade and Bogan are gone?

Giles is only 20 and has been on the list for 3 years so time is on his side but he would be well aware 2009 is a make or break year for him.

Port have carried Willetts for far too long IMO keeping a young potential big man off our list.

DeLuca has shown very little in his game time and IMO offers nothing around the ground, something the best Rucks in the league (Cox,Ottens) offer.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

It was only on the Rookie list this year and he has continued to develop pretty well IMO. He was one i think choco thought could be a real good player given his size. They say big men take longer to develop and he is still only 22 himself and i think he will develop into a very good SANFL player for the bloods and i am very happy we have kept him on board.

I think Giles and Deluca are both not AFL material and think that even though the lack of bigmen now on ports list (which was once there strength) would still be just as good to get rid of both of them and rely on last years ruckman that they picked up in the draft to step up and a ruckman that they will pick up in this years draft! Giles will be an AFL player by default, he is no way good enough to play AFL, but on that point deserves another year ahead of DeLuca if they were keeping one which they did. but all in all who gives a rats tossbag :D
