McGregor?

Postby Booney » Sat Jul 19, 2008 10:14 am

Ken McGregor seemed to make a decision at the end of last year to stay with Adelaide rather than seek a trade. Why he did this is not the question, but, did Adelaide offer him some sort of assurance that he would play this year?

With Biglands out for the year once more,Gill (at the end of 07) looking in reasonable form,Burton was injured at the time (only short term) and Hentschel still some months away McGregor would have thought time on the park would have been on offer.

With Moran getting picked ahead of him,and not knowing his SANFL form (McGregor that is) is this the end for him?
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

I'd think so Booney. I think that Kenny had some business opportunities in Adelaide that kept him here, not entirely sure though but heard something about it.

He put himself on the market but no one wanted him. We then gave him a 2 year deal which we will live to regret. He should be delisted at years end despite having a year to run on his contract.

I think his career was blighted by the need to use him as a forward rather than as a backman.
He appears to be a reactive player rather than a creative one, and I'd still be prepared to see if he could make a FB so Rutten could go forward, before giving up on him entirely, at least until we develop some new forwards or Hentchel recovers fully.

I am not filled with confidence in Jericho at FF if our midfield isn't dominating.
