Sharples and the Crows

Postby Footy Smart » Wed May 21, 2008 10:03 pm

As a sturt supporter i must say Charlie Sharples could be in the crows team right now not only on natural ability and also form.

JAcky has been getting a game and watching Sharples play for a number of weeks now he is more explosive, skillful and composed than Jacky at this stage.

What do you think his chances are of getting picked up by the crows? I think the crows should seriously look at him

Yeh he has looked pretty good, and speaking of Jacky, I haven't been too impressed. What's meant to be so good about his game?

Charlie will certainly get picked up next draft IMO, the AFL have pulled alot of Aboriginal lads from NT through the SANFL of late and Charlie is as good as any of them. Adelaide's chances, well they have let alot pass by of late also, I was surprised they didn't go for Alwyn last draft.

The kid will be a star - would be great if the crows snaffled him in the next draft but I rekon he may well be gone by the time we get a pick !!!

Charlie will get picked up but this boy will turn footy on it's head. He will bring on a new stampede of AFL scouts and hopefull a push of AFL into the Pacific, meet the Fijian Jim Stynes.

Then perhaps we should close and hide this thread and not mention him again so the Victorian clubs don't find out about him and therefore pass him over when he under-performs at draft camp.

He's been playing with the NT U18 squad in the last few weeks so they know who he is

Considering the talent in the first round of this draft i wouldnt take sharples then. He will be drafted though. Only reason he didnt go last year was that he didnt interview well apparently. Hawthorn were keen but went with Stokes.

You must remember that Jacky was played out of neccesity. The injury list was long at that stage. That said he looked a bit erratic but we can only hope that with time he will come good.

If Sharples is long gone, i wouldnt mind adelaide looking at either of the Thompson boys from North Adelaide. Both have someting special but are different style players in their own right.

The biggest darkhorse for a rookie contract is a kid from norwood under 19's. travels 300 oddkm a week to play a game. has a potential of being another franklin. he is about 196cm, very mobile and quick. since his operation on his heel he has impressed in leaps bounds. been formly very well but can not play seniors because does nhot live in adelaide and can not train every night. this same player was told he was no needed wanted by jarman. Stats this year so far 28 goals in 7 games and name in best players 4 times. couple weeks ago he kicked i think 8.7 against his old team. if living in adelaide he would be playing seniors and pushing A's spot.

Darren Shillabeer eh? Might have to check him out, but playing U/19's makes it hard.

Did this kid play reserves against sturt.... if so i thought he was great in a very ordinary team and could be a very handy pickup. These players are worth there weight in gold esspecially how tall he was aswell as athletic

No played 19's and kick 4 goals
Lives in the country, so he can not train all the time with norwood so he can not play reserves

Rumor I heard was if living in adelaide he would be playing seniors
