Tigers stole our thunder: Pagan

Postby sydney-dog » Wed May 24, 2006 9:26 pm

straight from Pagan's media conference

Carlton coach Denis Pagan says the Tigers have beaten the Blues to the punch by playing keepings off to defeat the Crows at Telstra Dome last Saturday.

Pagan told his Wednesday media conference that he was considering employing the very same tactics against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium this coming Saturday, but will now have to think up something new.

He might want to think of something new. Because lets face it, Craig is not stupid. Im pretty the same tactics wont work about the crows this week.

Even if Pagan wanted to employ the "keeping off" tactics, I don't think the players he has could pull it off. Richmond are slightly more skilled than Carlton, so maybe this is why it worked, and it only worked by 3 points. If there was another 5 minutes in the game, then Crows would have rolled them.

Criag is certainly not that but he was slow to react against the Wallace plan and that was surprising in my book.

Craigy. Just in case you've been busy this week I've written your game plan for you:

1. Get out of the blocks early and get in front.

2. If they play keepies off get every player to stand next to an opponent (a different one for each player so there are no loose opposition players) until the Crows get possession.
We used to be good :-(

In the context of the season thus far I don't think the Tigers are any more skilled then Carlton, prior to the weekend the tigers were ranked 2nd in overal clangers, now they are 5th in this regards, overal in effective kicks, they are ranked last.

if you take last week's game in isolation, they were able to execute their tactic and they got the points, how ever I feel the crows didn't make life too tough for them, they were able to execute under little or no pressure.........

i don't think the tigers will get a second opportunity

Listening to the radio last night a player said they were waiting for Richmond to come forward and they assumed that they were waiting for the best option forward - not playin keepings off.

Wallace tactically smashed mumbles !!!

Lets hope he has learnt a lesson !!!
