This week's match should be...

Talk on the national game

Then why call the team Australia?
It's not representing Australia. It's the rest, not 'good' enough to have been born in Victoria.

I explained this already. To market the game in other states. To unify the nation against a common enemy.

Nope, no inferiority complex at all.
I was born in Victoria - Williamstown - and support a Victorian team.
However, I'm a proud South Australian.

No problemo. It wasn't meant to be a shot at you but I wasn't sure where you were coming from (pardon the pun) with that comment because I wasn't certainly thinking of 'not good enough' when thinking about the 'Australia' concept. The Australian team would represent every state bar the Vics. That is about as close to national representation as we can get with Australian Football.

My suggestion makes more sense to me than kicking a round ball into a net playing against a bunch of Paddies.

My problem with calling the non-Victorian team Australia, is that it implies that Victoria is somehow worthy of playing against, and equal to, a National team, which clearly they are not.

This game is a joke, and i hope it bombs, as it has no worth, other than allow Victorians to represent their state.

There shouldn't be any game at all because state of origin footy is a thing of the past, but if there was to be one, i'd prefer a EAST v WEST game eg Vic//NSW/ACT/Qld v WA/SA/NT

I like the concept in that's it's a bit of a free kick to the SANFL.

If those who are all up in arms about it being such a carp concept then I hope they vote with their feet and return to their roots*.

And then, would they realise what they were missing thus creating an avalanche in membership applications to the 9 SANFL clubs.

But of course, that would never happen.

It's still what you think of Dutchy.
What do you think of when people refer to The Invincibles?
That's further away than 1992.
I wouldn't use that name for the exact same reason.
