Apparently Fevola's wife was with him.
Lets hope the kids were with people a bit more responsible than their parents
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

$10,000 fine for Fevola

AFL club Carlton has fined full-forward Brendan Fevola $10,000 for urinating in public.

Fevola has been cleared to play in Thursday's season-opener against Richmond but has been stood down from the Blues' leadership group.

Fevola was sanctioned for urinating outside a Melbourne nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The 27-year-old has a long rap sheet of alcohol-related incidents dating back to 2001, which includes being sent home from Ireland in disgrace in 2006 after he was involved in a brawl with a barman during Australia's international rules tour.

He was also suspended for one game last year by Carlton for displaying a poor on-field attitude.

Carlton chief executive Greg Swann said the Blues considered suspending Fevola for his latest indiscretion.

Instead Swann threatened the trouble-prone spearhead that he would be sacked if he was involved in any more alcohol-related controversies.

"Brendan has had an issue with alcohol, everything that has happened to him thus far has been connected to alcohol," Swann said.

"We are seriously going to help him in that case and enrol him in some education and welfare courses.

"We have also agreed with Brendan that if there are any more alcohol-related incidents then that will result in him being terminated by the Carlton football club."

Swann said suspending Fevola would not address his problems.

Carlton's leadership group, led by new skipper Chris Judd, was involved in the sanction, and Swann said Carlton consulted with the AFL Players' Association before imposing their penalty.

I would think that if this crap goes on through the season, a certain C Judd will read the riot act to the FEVHEAD and to the club, considering what he's experienced at WC. There's-a-gonna-be-a-showdown.!

Never happen. If Fev does it again Swann has said he is gone...
Fev has a choice head down and play footy, or on the scrapheap at 27...

[quote="Sojourner"]Despite what pressure the media are applying, Carlton would be better off to ignore this and do nothing. How serious is the offence really anyway??? quote]

$240 fine in Adelaide, you also get summoned to court but, you can plead guilty and explain yourself to a judge on paper if you wish

Nope, I've never done it. Then I've only been mildly intoxicated three times.

It's time to go back to locking people up for the offence of "Public Drunkeness" and restore community standards!
[I'll bet saying that makes me popular, but I'm not joking.]

I read a serious article recently expressing concern that binge drinking in the young is so severe doctors are beginning to detect alcohol induced brain damage in people still in their 20s. [No I'm not a teetotaller or arguing for prohibition - just moderation.]

We dont play AFL and we are not 5 days out from the season opener.

I like Fev as a player but he needs to use his brain, this sort of thing is not good enough especially when you have a long list of off field indiscretions like Fev does.

If,and that is a big if any body of power (ie;Federal Government) decided to initiate a way to control the use of alcohol and the amount young people consume I would rather see them put their efforts into anti-smoking and obesity issues rather than alcohol abuse.Granted,it is just as big of a problem as smoking and obesity, but IMO the other two have a greater impact on people lives.IMO.
