I was talking so a respected figure at the club and it seems the Powers marketing plans have changed, they have now accepted the Maggies are the reason they are in the competition and in 08 the Port supporters (Power & Magpies) will see huge changes in regards to how the club is run and promoted.......

if that's the case, the SANFL need to step in & put a halt to it, as part of the condition of Port Magpies joining the SANFL, after PAFC became Port Power (as they'd have us believe), was that the 2 separate Port entities remain just that- separate entities.

If it wasn't for the SANFL commission Port would have just moved up to the AFL and we wouldn't have to deal with all this shit 11 years on from people who claim to know something about football as there would be no more Magpies in the SANFL. Im saying that to some Port supporters too. Its not rocket science FFS.

I would say Port Adelaide won 37 SANFL flags and 1 AFL flag. And thats It. The Port Adelaide Football club was successful in the sanfl and got the right to enter into the AFL. They now exist in both comps. Simple as that. Try not to think to hard, the simplest answer is often the best.

Thanks for that very clear and concise explanation of the 'Port question' stanley. I have often been a bit confused about it....or maybe I just didn't give a shit ha ha.

I reckon it's a golden age for those who hate Port. Twice as many teams to hate, a record grand final loss and only one premiership this decade when ten years ago they were almost an annual event 'it's like Christmas for us' said one Port fan to me once.

centrals had the highest attendance last year of the minor round.

guarantee centrals has more total attendance than maggies over last 8 seasons aswell. Those GF crowds certainly do help. Remember those ???

Good to see Warren Tredrea at the helm again in 2008 , he deserves it after a solid pre season and the way he holds himself off the field is possibly a reason someone like C Cornes wont get it .
