Carlton Vs Bulldogs

Talk on the national game

Carlton Vs Bulldogs

Postby Pup » Fri Mar 07, 2008 9:53 am

Probably wont be off interest to many apart from Carlton and Bulldogs supporters but i am heading down to watch this practise match this afternoon. Will probably post a report for the likes of SJABC and co if they would like.

I am expecting a pretty large crowd for a practise match considering this will be Chris Judds first hit out for his new club. Looking forward to seeing a few things.
* How Judd is moving, At WCE he was a class above everyone else in these practise matches and i would expect the same again even with no match fitness.
* How Richard Hadley and Pfeiffer are going.
* Marc Murphys work effort
* Has Andrew McDougall improved at all
* Expecting Jason Akermanis to dominate.

Carlton are expecting in excess of Ten Thousand at the game.

Other NAB Challenge games are

WCE Vs Essendon (Fri)
Collingwood Vs Hawthorn (Fri)
Geelong Vs Richmond (Fri)
Sydney Vs Brisbane (Sat)
Melbourne Vs North (Sat)
Port Vs Freo (Sat)

You Bastard  , I coulda sent you my Carlton top to wear Pup !

Have fun, rumoured they may get up to 15 k at the game !!

From training reports I've read Judd is looking good, and hopefully can get through unscathed.
Keep a eye on Gibbsy as he's been flying, and thoughts on Kreuz too....

Listed as 5th best for us. Rusty, had about 20 possessions, kicked a goal, and looked very nice in the Navy Blue.... 8)

that aint bad considering the injuries he had last year and his first game at his new club.

20 possessions aint too bad, i would take that any day.

he should find some old form soon.

hopefully he stays injury free and plays round 1.

Was lucky to be in the best IMO.

Was reasonable without being super, still a bit rusty which is all that can be expected. He moved very well straight and side to side, not as explosive as i have seen but i am sure that will be back soon. I will post my report on the game soon.

Has a club ever been more excited about the arrival of one player?

Only Carey to Adelaide perhaps?

And what a mediocre investment that was. As a Crows supporter I winced when they decided to do that.
Buying a damaged/injured "star" and then relying on them is never a good move.

Yeah when he touched the ball for the first time the Carlton fans all erupted. Thats what most people came to see. It was an excellent atmosphere for a scratch match. I can see why Carlton loved playing at Optus Oval.
