I’m not saying this because he is a Crow but how is a verbal word worth double wiping blood on someone’s face

And Rankine deserved what he got

It's not, that's why the Xerri incident is another demonstration of the AFL's lack of consistency.

I think the AFL should have come down harder, should have been north of 5 weeks. He wipes his nose twice, to make sure he's got blood on his hand. That's absolutely disgusting, not to mention the hygiene issue, and far worse than calling a player a bundle of sticks.

Was there actual blood though?

I really like Xerri but that has killed it for me, I don't care how good he is or how many points he can score in SC, I will never pick him again.

Absolutely putrid act, surely at some point the little dude on your shoulder tells you to not do that, if some bloke wiped their excrement on me I would absolutely lose my shit!

Both Gather Round games at Barossa Park will have an extra 2,000 capacity this year.

Two additional grandstands will take capacity up to around 12,000.

Final tickets to go on sale for those games and multiple others at 10am Adelaide time today.

There was barely any blood, think that's why the Essendon players got stuck into him for being flattened by a little bloke

We are not really as it’s worse. You are only saying this as it’s a North player.

It wouldn't be unfair to call them all gross misconduct though.

Always fun to play outraged and claim the AFL got it wrong, should have been more; but I'll go the other way and defend the result.
Don't get me wrong, it was a terrible act, however....

Rankine and all the others were unprovoked. They made bad decisions just to be sh!t blokes.
Xerri made a bad decision following being wacked in the face.

Not only was he possibly concust, but he was probably being abused for 'staying down' and wanted to show he got wacked in the face and wasn't milking it. Sure, his way of showing that was ordinary, but I can see the thought process that got him to that bad decision, as opposed to others who just wanted to cross the line for the fun of it.

Liam Ryan getting away with wacking Berry from behind and off the ball is the one I think should be stamped out. Deserved some time on the sidelines.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

I checked the AdFL Tribunal Guidelines

Closest thing is this: Spitting at or on another person 5 - 8

In my Tribunal, I would be heavily pushing for:
5 weeks if wiped on the clothes
8 weeks if wiped on skin. More games if aggravated (ie) spitting it or it entering the other players mouth or eyes
dedja: Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

It's not something that is often seen, so hard to find appropriate comparisons.

Howe wiped blood on Jonas's shorts from memory, he got a reprimand.
Buckley wiped blood on Ling's jumper, he got 1 game.

3 doesn't seem miles off.
