Two teams having an annus horribilus compared to two top 4 chances - a little bit apples and pairs. Demon fans never go to TD. I went to your Sunday twilight match against the Dees - 20,000 of which I reckon about 5K or so were Dees fans.

But I take your point.

understand that but just giving a balanced view....the Roos seem to cop it all regarding membership and attendence, I wouldnt think there should be any excuses for 2 victorian clubs playing each other at TD and not have at least 20k

I think all the examples are just symptomatic of having 10 teams out of a 16 team National comp based in 1 state.

Its like the NFL having 20 teams out of New York and the other 12 spread around the other cities. Wouldn't ever be dreamt of but we have it here.

And it all came about because the Melbourne based VFL feared there being a a new independent national league not under their control - they have reaped what they sewed and now the original VFL clubs who voted to do it are paying for it - or trying to make a few of their number pay for it.
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

Incompetent fools...I was an AD fan before all this, fancy giving someone a 30 day deadline to make a decision yet halfway thru the deadline they havent tabled a formal offer? FFS

Smacks of contempt by the AFL, think they are bigger than the game

Looks like both sides are now playing this out in the public domain now

I have seen these sort of negotiations go on with changes and endless re-drafts right up to the last minute before everyone signs. It's never finalised when there's still 2 weeks to go. I expect the Kangas have already seen 95% of the deal and its the last few points being checked over by the AFL lawyers before being presented. Brayshaw is being a bit clever in implying that he hasn't seen anything ... note his words "haven't seen a final written offer".

Still, Brayshaw giving the AFL public serve sounds justified .... get a wriggle on AD you want the deadline then produce the document!

Be great to be a fly on the wall at the meetings about this - there'll be a book written one day about it all when all the dust settles
