Dear Members,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write to you as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Sydney Swans.

The Sydney Swans is a club I have long admired from afar, for its on-field excellence and for being bold by having the courage to stand up in the big moments off the field.

As a club that is seen as an industry and community leader, it is an honour to lead it into the next chapter of a proud history spanning more than 150 years.

The Sydney Swans is more than just a football club; we are a community bound by shared passion, resilience, and a belief that has been there since the club was founded in South Melbourne in 1874.

Our members are the beating heart of that community. Your unwavering support and loyalty through every high and low, has built much of our success as it stands today. As I step into this role, my commitment is to ensure that your connection, as part of our red and white family, grows even stronger.

As a leader, I am deeply committed to creating an environment for our athletes to thrive, including nurturing the next generation coming through our QBE Sydney Swans Academy. The club is renowned for sustained success, and my goal is to build on that culture of high performance. Equally, I want our club to remain a leader in inclusivity, community outreach, and sustainability – values that reflect the best of Sydney and the spirit of Australian football.

It has been a baptism of fire over the past few weeks, with the AFL Trade period proving a busy and emotional time for the club.

We farewelled two much-loved Life Members in Ollie Florent and Will Hayward, who both fittingly finish their careers with us on 184 games after being drafted together in 2016. Both players have been valued contributors and popular members of our team. We wish them both all the very best for the future – they will always be part of the fabric of our club.

We also welcomed Charlie Curnow, Jai Serong and Malcom Rosas Jnr to our football program, who we are all excited to have with us for the 2026 season and beyond. We have no doubt these players will help strengthen our men’s football program and we look forward to seeing them commence with the team when they return for the start of the pre-season next month.

Over the coming weeks my focus is on assisting the AFLW program, as we are hopeful of reaching a second finals campaign. To everyone who has turned out to support the team so far this season, I extend a heartfelt thank you. It has been wonderful to see the hill at Henson Park become a sea of red and white. We would love to see plenty of you make the trip to Coffs Harbour for our final home-and-away game against Essendon this Saturday, November 1.

I look forward to meeting you at games, events, and member forums over the months ahead. Your feedback and passion inspire us to aim higher, and together we can ensure the Swans continue to soar – both on the field and in our community.

Thank you for your loyalty and belief. The best is yet to come for the red and white.

Cheer, cheer!

Pav
