I don't think it's about relaxing standards, he has always had a bit of a 'gut' on him. Weights listed that i can find are all similar every year (could be heavier at the moment, but obviously not going to have his current weight released to the public). Setting a very dangerous precedent if you are dropping him for being out of condition when a quick google search can see his whole career he has had a similar frame.

It has been stated that he is struggling and the club have talked him out of retirement, let him get through the season and work on next year. Push him and he may just pull the pin.

Whatever his usual condition is, he’s currently (at least visually) in the worst condition he’s been in for some time, worse condition than he has been at any stage of this year.

I suspect his game day running numbers reflect that.

He’s hiding his fuller shape with as much difficulty as Anthony Pierri in the Norwood Lycra era.

At least get the man a bigger jumper.

Fud had this issue, but even he got fit when pushed in his AFL career.

That said, I remember him playing ‘overs’ for North before being drafted and he still could manage to kick a lazy 9. Willie ain’t no D Jarman though.

That said, he’s probably 10x his playing weight now …

I remember when his lad played in the same primary school comp as one of my boys. Fud would park as close to the ovel as possible (pretty sure he went up and over the kerb and onto the oval surrounds), took two or three steps from the car and plonked himself into a deck chair, sporting a late 90's-era Adidas tracksuit that was hanging on for dear life.

My lad looked at me in utter disbelief when I said that big bloke over there has the best skills you've ever seen

Why the **** would anyone racial vilify Burgoyne and NWM? Two of the most unconfrontational players in the AFL. Shits me.

This is why people suck.
