REB,

Question? If you were regarded as one of the best in your chosen field, and the company you worked for didn't hold any more interest and you thought a move was the best for your career, would you shop around looking for the best option ? Or would you just throw your hat into the ring and see what popped up? I know that if I was looking for another employer, and I was in the top 5% in my chosen industry field I would choose the best option for my career. Would that make me a prima donna or would that be good business sense ?

While i agree with what you are saying, it is arguable that the best thing for his career would have been to stay at WCE with big money, real estate deals and being the face of the club.

If you didnt follow Carlton do you honestly think that Carlton is the best place for his career to flourish on and off the field? If he went to Collingwood he would have had Eddie giving him whatever he wanted, Rebecca Twigley getting a leg up in the media industry through channel 9 and arguably the best facilities in Australia. He also gets to play for a very succesful club (Self Proclaimed Man U of the AFL) If he went to Melbourne he would get to play for the side that he followed as a youngster, he would have a 'In' with channel 7 for Twigley and he gets to play for a more low key side (Not the big 4) which seemed to be his wish.

Add to it that we havent heard from Judd through this whole deal, just his Twit of a manager (Paul Connors) If Chris had come and said it is Carlton or nothing and not let Paul do all his talking he might have come out of this with a better reputation. The longer this goes on the worst he looks and i think thats unfortunate because he is a great player and a pretty good bloke from all reports.

Pup, whilst I was surprised that Judd did choose Carlton, the reasons he did have yet to be declared. There is plenty of corporate backers around the CFC to ensure his sucess IF he goes there. Didn't Buckley go to the self proclaimed Man U (which is a joke in itself unless they take over Carlton & Essendon in the flag stakes), and where did that get him ?
Only two more days before all is resolved. As I've posted elsewhere, if he becomes a Blue fantastic, if not then bring on picks 1 & 3...

Yeah i dont like the Man U reference either.

I agree we will wait and see what comes of the trade. I wish it was completed all ready so we can get the other deals done and move on to thinking about the Draft and season 2008.

It's done and CONFIRMED.
Must say as a Blue Boy am very happy with the deal...
WEST COAST get...picks 3/20 and J Kennedy.
CARLTON get..C Judd & pick 46  .
Very surprised that the Eagles gave a pick as well....

The pick is useless to us.

It is a shallow draft and with 4 picks in the first 20 (Pending Mitch Morton Trade) and Josh we cant afford to pick up another player with pick 46 unless we delist another player as well which we have no need to do.

We already have a couple of tough decisions to make.

On the trade, at least WCE got some compensation, afetr initial doubts i look forward to see how JK develops at our club, and we will get Cotchin or Masten with pick 3. Carlton would be very happy though, they are big winners in this trade.

Pup, the trade is good, but very surprised the Eagles gave a pick as well...no-one would've tipped that one...
Who knows the Blues might pick up someone half decent, but I think they may on trade it along with third rounder
for another player at the trade...got a day to work it out...

You might use those 2 picks to have a go at Richard Hadley.
