Agree whufc, but then you have the President say it worked, which is the point Im making (Ive said earlier I agree with their decision to revert to 1 captain)

Me, I think the captaincy, whilst an honour at (almost) any club isn't as much about game day as it is about setting standards in training, preparing yourself as best you can to perform on game day, being the conduit between playing group, coaching and the club, being the "front man" for media etc. Beyond tossing the coin I don't think captains do the bulk of their work on field, it's done off field much, much more than the 2 hours they play on weekends.

I think given the new rules on the runners access to players it makes the on-field leader more important, the leadership group is responsible for the off-field standards etc.

Just my feeble opinion though.

Yeah Kochy is an interesitng character, without following him overly closely i feel like he doesnt mind mismatching his personal opinion with the club line .

Though i dont think its overly far fetched to say that it worked but being the 150 anniversary they wanted to revert back to the traditional model.

It worked/it didn't worked its really an immeasurable and is just an opinion held by the eye of the beholder. Unless your ultimate KPI for its success is win/loss record there is no magic formula that says it was a success/wasnt.

Much ado about nothing........i would rather hang crap on them about their identity crisis rather than this non event. :D

They can have 3 captains, as long as Ken is in charge they are going no where. ;)

I’m more astounded about the lack of foresight in the 149th year than the reverting back to 1 captain in the 150th.

Why couldn’t you of come up with this structure 12 months ago when nothing is really changing internally with the leadership roles.

It’s been a dogs breakfast imho

Hinkley stated in the presser PAFC has only 39k members at present(admittedly it’s Only December) Which is 12k down on last year. That’s a lot of pissed off power fans.
