A lot of credit to Geelongs board for holding onto him.

There's a few instances you could say this about Senior Coaches .. Many media and Power fans (not to mention sponsors) thought Chocko should have been shown the door in 2004 and not only did he lead them to the flag, he looks every chance of doing it again in the future ... Paul Roo's is another that springs to mind.

IIRC, some were calling for Thompson's head as recently as round 5 this season.

For REB,
One of my alltime favourite books, can be read time and time again.
I'm sure you'd really love it.

Heres the blurb: ______
You have to be born somewhere, and John Harms was born in Chinchilla, Queensland - a place with no connection whatsoever to Australian Rules football except for the fanatical devotion of the entire Harms family. Exiles in a land of rugby, outcasts amongst football heathens - providentially, they also believed in a just and merciful God so there was something to fall back on.

Loose Men Everywhere takes us back, Harms style, to an earlier but not necessarily gentler era. To World of Sport and Scanlen's footy cards; to Oakey Under-12s, the worst team ever to strap on footy boots; to the 1989 grand final when the dream of a Geelong premiership was just one straight kick away. And to a lifetime of valiant hopes, plunging disappointments and third-quarter fightbacks: the lot of true believers.
______
Adelaide footy gets a good mention as he spent some time in Adelaide along the journey.

I think you may be able to get it at Mary Martin Books online
or definately somewhere online.

Lets see Geelong this year have won the Ron Evans Medal :Joel Selwood and the JJ Liston Trophy to James Byrne. Now all we need is the VFL flag the Brownlow and the AFL Flag to add to that collection.
