Talk on the national game

Stoked!!

Pretty happy with the Catters so far this season. We've won three practice matches without our most experienced player and our two most valuable players. We've managed to kick a winning score in the last two weeks with no significant contribution from our leading goal kicker. Thompson has rotated his bench and everyone has come on and had a kick and a catch. We've managed to beat two sides that were at full strength while we had over six players out on each occasion. On top of all that, we get to come to Adelaide to have a crack at the hottest team in the pre-season which will prove to be a valuable hit out considering that we will be playing them at Girlee Stadium later on in the year.

GO CATS.

Love how everyone bags out the pre-season comp.

Until their team makes the grand final.

im a cats fan and honestly i was hoping that they would lose last night, travelling twice in 3 weeks, after a hot night in cairns, but Freo they never know how to win!!!!!

well the cats come over here next week for a crack against the crows, the cats had set themselves up to win the pre-season comp and they are in the final so they may achieve there goal, highly unlikely. Didnt see the crows friday night but heard they were in ominous form. they will be favourites and they will win comfortably.

was thinking about the Adelaide-geelong g/f quinella in the real season.

Geelong are in fine form withour two key players i wonder if Bomber will play them in the final this week or rest them till round one. Since 1963 the cats have not won a grand final of any sorts. Geelong have lost nine grand finals but collingwood holds the record from 1958 till 1990 me thinks. Friday nights game was a shambles for melbourne and a training run for Adelaide thats how i feel. Geelong had the thougher test Melbourne played terrible football and the crows had a walk in the park. I feel Geelong will win this game and lets hope that cat that ran onto the ground brings a few more friends out to support the cats. Remember last time a cat followed onto a ground where geelong played the cats won.

Agree with you totally REB signs look great for Geelong for this year, they are my tip for minor premier, (what happens after that will be impossible to pick). To those bagging the preseason comp they are definitely only practice matches but you still want your team to practice winning and being able to kick winning scores.

Gotta say I was pretty impressed with Geelongs transition out of defence, the ability to hit targets with foot passes was pretty sensational particularly in the last quarter when the game was there to be won and the traffic in the centre square was busy.

Is it just me but I don't think everyone in the good ship SS Fremantle is rowing the same direction? Hell to turn for home two goals up for a chance to win a trophy and quieten the Docker Knockers should have been motivation enough but to roll over like they did??

I don't like predicting the future and I never will......but has Connelly's odds shortened to be the first coach this year to peruse http://www.careerone.com.au?

Should be a good game this week with two big possible ins for Adelaide Bassett & Goodwin
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yes, that's the worry Boon. We need Otto and King to be around the place at the business end of the season or the drought will continue. You need to big blokes to perform the rucking duties at the end of a long season as Sydney showed last year with Ball and Jolly.

This is why St Kilda will fail, and continue to fail in September in my view.
