Greetings. All players playing off for the prestigous Hogg Shield.

1st Qualifying Final

1. Ipswich Cats (REB) vs. 4. Elizabeth Eaglez (Duncs)

Elizabeth Eaglez can repeat their earlier victory over the Cats and advance to the prelim final. Cats have too many injuries at the moment.

2nd Qualifying Final

2. Testaccio SPQR (Dario) vs. 3. Team Akermanis (Troy)

I reckon Darios can also repeat his earlier win over Akermanis and advance. Whoever wins this match will be the favourite I reckon.

1st Elimination Final

5. Ramblers (Paul) vs. 8. Legs (Simon)

This one will be really close as both teams have been scoring at about the same rate all season. The performance or non-performance of Jarred Brennan could decide this one and it might just be the Ramblers who ramble on to next week.

2nd Elimination Final

6. ICF Hammers (Bennie) vs. 7. Cubs Demons (Cub)

Cubs Demons look like the soft touch in the top eight for this comp and I predict that the Hammers will advance here.


Well, let's hope my dream team tipping is better than my real tipping!

I wish my Dreamteam was as near as good as my tipping (98).

Our work has an 11-team dreamteam with drafts and all the trimmings. We have a final 8 and the finals start this week without me . My team (Melee Starters) had a 6-14 record and missed out by percentage!

Oh well, I just gotta concentrate on the tipping $ then! I'm only in front by one and any one of five can still win - I need to salvage something from this season what with Carlton, East Freo and my dreamteam. At least Sturt are still in the running!

I like the Herald Sun Dream Team set up. 16 teams in the comp and bottom half finals. Good for teams like me where the team went through a bad patch in the middle of the season (7 loses in a row), but are now firing on all cylinders 9 (5 wins in a row and counting).

In our comp, its between myself and Dissident for the bottom half premiership.

All came down to a poor captain change for me. I went to Milburn from Pavlich on friday afternoon!!

Milburn scored 62 and Pav scored 177! That was the difference right there.

Brennan and Brad Johnson dudded me 2! Oh well, lesson learnt, look out legs!

I had Johnson as well though Duncs. My skipper was Gary Ablett who was reasonably well held also. You can't expect Brennan to kick seven for you like he did last time you played me.

As usual some brilliant tipping by me, just like the real thing LOL. This week is Semi Final week for the Hogg Shield

1st Semi Final

4. Elizabeth Eaglez (Duncs) vs. 8. Legs (Simon)

The Legs had an upset win last week but will find things a whole lot tougher against the Eaglez on the rebound. Duncs will surely allocate a midfield skipper last week after making a defender his leader last week. Eaglez should have no trouble accounting for the Legs here to advance to the Preliminary Final.

2nd Semi Final

3. Testaccio SPQR (Dario) vs. 6.Cubs Demons (Cub)

Cubby benefited immensely from an upset from his beloved Melbourne and if the Dees salute against the Pies he might be able to knock the Wog out in straight sets. However, I think Darios has a few tricks up his sleeve with his conservative trading strategy and might stay one step ahead of Cubby who will rake in good points for White, Davey and Robertson. SPQR in what will be the closer of the two Semis.

Had a great weekend last weekend. Catters lost. Legs lost, Roosters lost and I got booted out of the Hogg Shield by the wog. The Grand final for the Hogg Shield AFL will be between Tesstacio SPQR and Team Akermanis who absolutely flogged 8th ranked Legs last week.

Troyboy Hamilton looks the goods to go on and win the inagural Hogg Shield for AFL.
