Adelaide v Essendon

Talk on the national game

Bad kicking is bad football. Gill should go back to SANFL til his kicking for goal improves- unforgiveable in my opinion. I really liked bock at CHB thought he played superbly and was best for the crows IMO.

My team next week for what its worth (bugger all): assuming roo and rutten are back

Stevens Rutten Johncock

Torney Bock Mcleod

Cambell Goodwin

Mcgregor

Welsh Burton

As others on here have suggested.
Time to look to the future & play the youngsters.
Gill, Campbell, Douglas, Griffin etc.
Clean out at the end of the season (players not coach).

Its hard to say this, but maybe Roo should call it quits. He's an absolute legend, but he's been doing it tough with injury.
He's done it all & with a young family now… ??

Roo still has something to offer up forward I think but his mid-field days are over.

Not sure if a 'clean out' is required but I do think that the Crows were looking to squeeze a flag out of the 2006 playing group/structure which hasn't worked, so that a restructure is needed for 2008. Prob time to wind Edwards and Goody into different roles and get some speed back in the midfield. Even tho both were good yesterday.

Anyways, we have a couple of new 'recruits' in Hentschel and Biglands in 2008!

We are in a similar spot to where we were in 1996 and then in 2003 - time for the next transition.

If I were a Power supporter though I would be confident. However we seem to match up well against you and I just have a feeling we'll pull off an upset.

I can see the crows playing a frustrating game of footy full of more missed opportunities this weekend.
They'll lose by a frustrating 17 points after leading at half time.

Agreed. We'd both like to play the Power in September instead of the Eagles eh? Still, Adelaide with all of their outs hardly represents a decent team IMO. Port have been scoring more than anyone over the last eight rounds so it will take a good effort from the Blackbirds to pull off this surprise of which you are speaking.

Going experimental

Postby Psyber » Wed Aug 01, 2007 12:26 am

I know it is not strictly on the thread heading, but for those who would like to go experimental now as suggested above - how about these for fun:

B: Reilly Perrie Bock
HB: McLeod Maric Torney
C: Douglas Goodwin Van Berlo
HF: Welsh Gill Edwards/Knights
F:Burton/Thompson McGregor Stevens

R1 Hudson Burton Edwards
R2 Griffin Thompson Knights
INT: Griffin Johncock Mattner ?Campbell

OR PERHAPS

B: Reiily Bock Goodwin
HB: Van Berlo Perrie Torney
C: Douglas McLeod Campbell
HF: Welsh Maric Edwards/Knights
F: Burton/Thompson McGregor Stevens

OR perhaps Hudson at CHF changing with Maric and Griffin and the bench???
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!
