First upset of the round ... Essendon move to 7-4

Well done Bombers ... they have surprised me this season

Eagles to lose top spot to Geelong if the Cats win on Sunday

Upset my a**, my first correct tip of the week, the Bombers are on a roll, have knocked of all of last years top 4
:D  :D  :D  :D

I said pre season that they would improve, but not make the 8, if they can keep this up for a few more weeks I may have to re evaluate.

Last time Essendon won 3 in a row after trailing at 3/4 time was in 1908.

Argh!!!! I was SO close to tipping the Bombers. :(

Great win! Can't believe the non holding the ball decisions not paid against Kerr and Rowan Jones in the last term.

well done Bombers.
my admiration for Hird grows even more.

Tonight also furthered my beliefs:

Hille good.
McPhee overrated.
Winderlich rubbish.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Sheed's summed him up well after the game, something along the lines of : he risked his reputation to play on this year.

His reputation is not only intact after the first 11 rounds, some would argue that he has enhanced it further. He is having a blinder of a year...I wish it wasn't his last.......

And could you beleive the non free kick to Chris Judd in the goalsquare
when he was raped by the Essendon defender
Its been a free for the previous 10 rounds this year
That was before the 2 holding the ball decisions
West Coast did not score after that blatant free kick.

I thought the opposite mal, what in particular are you moaning about this week?

I thought game was pretty good - sat through the entire second half, for the first time this season I saw more than one quarter of a game before getting bored and turning the tv off.

Agree with the assessments of Hird, his calmness under pressure is astonishing at times and his ability to locate teammates is uncanny.

Still can't believe the Bombers got up after the Weagles blitzed them early.

As for obvious free kicks not being paid, how about the Rowan Jones holding the ball inside the last two minutes? He dived on the pill, sat on it and would've hatched it a few moments later had the ump not blown his whistle for a ball-up.

Every week, it looks like Sheeds has done it again. Wonder if he'll coach on or be content to let a next generation coach take this young team to the next level...

That interview with Hird and Olarenshaw at the end of the game was fantastic. Showed the lighter side to Hird. Loved how he said Footy is such a fun game. Fun is why we play, watch and love this game. Great stuff James Hird - legend!

Tipped Essendon by a point in office tipping comp. :supz:
Second time in my life that I was glad to see them win.
