Gravel I'll concede that is a fair rap in terms of being one of the best players in the comp for 2004.

However given the diversity of awards in 2004 and as you say the individual brilliance of Brown in certain games not to mention Judd winning the Brownlow, I'll still stand by my calim that Tredrea has never been the best player in the AFL, great one yes in 2004 but never the best.

FWIW his peers (the 640 AFL listed players) thought Nick Reiweldt was the outstanding player of 2004 AFLPA player of the year
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Can remember going to the footy as a kid and seeing Harold Oliver take screamers all day long...

Perhaps a better question for this forum would be:

'Who's SA's best AFL footballer?"

One Season does not make a great Player it takes several seasons of consistent performances. Tredrea had one good year in 2004 which resulted in a Premiership. done farg all since end of story

Tredea  Your havin a giraffe.

I am continually amazed how highly he is rated when he seems to miss goals whenever his team needs him.

Anyway for what it's worth, D Jarman would ave to be my choice in my lifetime

It's a tough one, but all I'll say is a champion from any era would be a champion in any other era.

Ricciuto would easily be the best South Aussie footballer of this generation and fwiw is the best Crows player of all time. He is a champion.

An argument may be able to be made that Ricciuto is the best of this generation but by no means "easily" IMO. I would disagree he was "easily" a superior player and with "easily" a better playing record than both Wanganeen and Darren Jarman. Craig Bradley is of the same generation, theres no way Ricciuto is "easily" superior to him either (same goes for Platten as well).
