Talk on the national game

If they both play no AFL this year (likely) I struggle to see what value they offer other clubs? surely instead of wasting a draft pick for the trade you would hold onto the pick and get a youngster that shows a bit as they would have more upside than these blokes who havent cut it and havent even performed consistently at SANFL level...

Sometimes the ruckmen come good later in their careers ... such as Hudson and Brogan

There's some hope for a ruckman in his early 20s, they can take time to bulk up and get it together at that level
In between signatures .....

In fact if the bulk up as they age and the attachments to the bone strengthen with the muscles they may break down less.

Putting them on "Ralgro" [cattle anabolic] may muscle them up too fast for real strength.

In regards to Maric, I think maybe you a being a little short sighted :)

Last year as a 19 year old he showed some fantastic signs, this year he has been dreadful unlucky with injury and because of that will probably need Griffen or Hudson to fall over to get an opportunity

Maric will develop in to a 200 game AFL player, no doubt about that, and believe me clubs will be interested in his services, especially those in Victoria

Lets be honest, the comp is not blessed with young ruckman pushing through

Meesen, I agree he is definitely an unknown quantity and more of a gamble
