what if a SA based team only chose SA players to draft ????

There should be a zonal component where AFL clubs are aligned to certain clubs/districts/regions from which they have priority to draft players.

Clubs then have an incentive to nurture talent within their zones knowing they'll reap the benefits.

It also gives young, budding AFL footballers a sense of belonging and more certainty of their immediate futures.

Definitely agree. If not a complete "zone" system, having it somehow incorporated into the current system would be great.

Can't agree, it has to be one or the other imho (but regardless of what we think, the current system aint changing in the forseeable future)
