Question about Mots

Talk on the national game

Mots was the greatest player I ever seen put on a Double Blue guernsey, for that matter to this day I have not seen a more talented player in our game. Was a regular at Carlton and was destined to become a fantastic afl/vlf player. Was brilliant in all facets of the game and could have been a champion playing in todays style of footy too. He took amazing pack marks, was gifted with hand and foot. Could play defence, midfield or attack. Was a fair player. It was tragic for the man what happened to him. It was a real shame for the football world we were unable to see a full career. Its situations like Mots, that ben cousins should look at and feel very bloody lucky. :(
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Had the honour of attending the Craig Braddley testimonial held by The Blues a few years ago, and Mots was there. They had him on stage for a chat and he was as funny as hell...The roof of the Crown Casino almost came off with the tremendous applause he received. Held in very high regard at CFC, and has Braddles 87 premiership medal.
Would have made the Carlton team of the century if his career wasn't cut down...
Fantastic footballer and a even better clubman...
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

Motley was a brilliant player no doubt and left Adelaide with superb credentials.I remember he took a little longer to find his true form with Carlton but was really on the way to showing everyone in the footy world what he had when tragically had his career ended. I do think however to put SK,CB and Mots in some exclusive club of Ex-SA players is unfair. Platten,Blight,McGuiness,Rendell ,Carey(well we claimed him for a state game that he won off his own boot),Phillips(dont panic everyone I am not going to mention Graham Cornes pathetic VFL career),Mark Willams and a bucket load of others had very very very destinguished careers also.
