In spite of power01's protestations.
Let the Rubbish begin
Port Adelaide should continue St Kilda's run of outs at Football Park tonight with another win. St Kilda has proven to be Port's bitch consistently in recent seasons and with yet another defender going down last week, the cupboard looks totally bare in the back half for the Saints. I reckon this one will get real ugly for the Saints with the Power recording a comfortable 41 point victory. Surely I can break my Essendon/St Kilda duck here!
West Coast should absolutely pound the inept Richmond 'team' at the MCG on Saturday, even though
Inside Football has selected the Tigers! How Victorian can you get?? There would be a better chance of getting the Eagles to enforce their players to take responsibility for their actions than there would be for a Tiger victory. I'd expect a similar scoreline to last week for the Eagles, perhaps even more. West Coast by 57 points.
Carlton sides of recent years have perfected the art of the rebound victory after a large loss and I expect this unit to do the same and defeat the Lions this weekend. The inclusion of Fev tips the scales the Blues way as does the home ground advantage of playing at the Telstra Dome. I reckon the Blues can defy the Lions and Dutchy's statistical analysis and finish up 18 point winners.
Sydney will be the latest club to beat up on the undermanned Demon outfit this weekend. The Swans were embarrassed last weekend and their kicking for goal was rank. They'll get plenty of opportunities to practice their goalkicking during the match on the weekend and actually put a few more through the big uprights. Daniher's last season looks like it's going to be a long one for the Dees. Johnstone, Maloney and Rivers back for the Dees but they lose Whelan, Wheately and Green. This mob can't take a trick and the Swannies will be primed to pounce by 45 points.
Western Bulldogs will include Akker and Cross for it's match against Hawthorn who will feel the loss of goalsneak Mark Williams. It is now time for Hawthorns annual 'apres Geelong win' form slump and the Dogs will be played back into form by the league's training tool, Richmond. The G is made for the Doggies and they'll put the Hawks away this weekend. Bulldogs by 27 points.
Geelong will make sure that last week's pi55 poor loss against the Hawks is not the Roos gain at Cat Park on Sunday. Geelong will have Ottens back into the side and have included Kane Tenance hopefully to replace that dud Shannon Byrnes. The Roos are another side that have had success against the Cats at venues such as Manuka but the Cat Park venue will not be a welcome place for many of the younger Roos. Geelong will bounce back and win by 31 points.
Fremantle will be the next side played into form by a battling opponent the previous week in Melbourne. The Crows have been most resilient in recent rounds winning matches in spite of a mounting injury toll. However I reckon this match might catch the Blackbirds in a bit of a flat spot against a desperate opponent who will not want to fall behind the back after it's 0-3 start. At full strength Adelaide has Freo's number and
can win at Subiaco but I don't think that will happen this week as Freo should have the hunger here. Fremantle to win by 11 points in this round's toughie.
So get on
(the opposition) and collect. This is REB here for FOXTEL.
