Homdo, Bayman has made an excellent point...why being a SANFL member gives you membership of both the Crows and Power yet no voting rights?

With this theory all MCG members should be counted in Collingwood, Richmond and Melbourne membership figures..

Maybe I had the wrong end of the stick ... I wasn't commenting on Bayman's thoughts on that issue. But, while we are at it, I didn't realise that until this year that SANFL members are counted on the Crows and Powers member lists and it doesn't seem quite right to me. So I guess I agree with both of you ...

As the offending member of the site who PM'd Dutchy I find the term franchise when referenced to the Adelaide footy Club, that I am proud to be member of, an anathema

It probably comes from jealousy and envy so I'm over it now. To me its a club: innovative inclusive and proud.

Personally I hate the term franchise as it is so american and represents all that is bad about there sport.

however on the other issue raised in this thread I thnik Dtchy has a fair point that all cat 1 members of Footy Park shouldn't necessarily be counted in either the Adelaide or Port Power membership figures.

Funny how Rucci raises that issue against Adelaide but never Port power when it comes to over-inflated membership figures. He was also the one who first started using the term franchise and Adelaide in the same sentance...those of you who keep making that analogy do you like being a Rucci clone???

Despite my rant against Dutchy earlier this year now its meh, play on.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

In the fullness of time we'll see whether one or both of the teams in "the blockbuster" are in the final eight. It would be interesting to know what percentage of the 90,000 were neutral supporters having a day out at the footy after Anzac day lunch. It's a huge advantage having a decent stadium close to the city, unlike SA's Waverly equivalent down in the wildnerness at Westlakes.

Was a brilliant day from dawn service to the march and then the afternoon at the MCG just topped it off. Fans didnt seem to let their alligances get in their way of what the day was about and that added to the great atmosphere inside. One of the best football days out ever! :D
