Phantom SA Origin Team

Talk on the national game

Postby Hondo » Thu Apr 19, 2007 10:48 pm

If State of Origin came back I doubt that a current AFL Coach would get the gig. They would go with someone outside the system like Blight or Cornes I reckon.

If it was Craigy or Chocco I couldn't split them - Chocco is a premiership coach yet Craigy has 2 prelim final finishes in 3 seasons. Either would be OK to me.

Like who? And who would you include from the SANFL???

The only ones I could imagine leaving out are Enright, Thompson and probably Fisher?

Those 3 sprung to mind and Griffen as well, great young kid but really hadn't done much yet.

None of those 4 would have even got in a 2nd SA State of Origin side in past years.

Who would come up from the SANFL tho?

Other players not mentioned and worth considering, Eagleton, Darcy (if fit), Ottens (can play forward or ruck), Scotty Burns, Slattery, Monfries, Corey Jones, Fosdike and Beau Waters

For me Beau Waters is a better choice across HB than Enright

Ottens is worth considering as a forward or ruckman, gives flexibility to the side

Fosdike, is a must in the midfield, big game player, GF's are an example

Corey Jones, is worth considering across HF

Monfries, young but very clever

Coach, does williams get the nod because of his premiership success?

Is Craig the form coach based on the last two seasons?

or do we consider someone independant and not currently aligned to an AFL club, like

BLIGHTY

Add McMahon SD, going OK ATM....

Corey Jones wouldnt be elligible, hes a victorian, despite playing for Sturt

I think Enright deserves his place in the side, he is a very underrated part of Geelong's midfield.
