106kms/h in a 100km/h zone, come on!
They'll ping you at 104 in Victoria, and at one stage SA was talking about adopting the 3kph margin too.

Yeah thanks mate. About 2 months late with the advice!
Ahh well, at least they were only $153 each.

NSW is better. I got one for 109kph there - $84.00 - I think they start at 11kph over and $256.00 plus levy in SA still.

in sa a camera will do you for less than 11 kays over. the tolerance used to be 10% but they lowered it to an unspecified level some time ago (happy to be corrected by those that may know more, Locky??)

an actual police officer with a laser gun will usually give more tolerance though. i know one officer told me he wouldnt bother pulling over someone doing "only" ten kays over, as while he would be writing out the ticket someone else would fly past going 15 to 20 kays over!

In the UK the cops I spoke to told me the general speed limit was 70mph (112kph), but they don't usually book anyone doing less than 82 (131kph). That seemed reasonable to me...
There is probably less need for fine income as VAT (GST equivalent) there is 17.5% not 10%.
