THeir a disgrace C7.

Get them off the tv. Give all games to Foxtel and let them show all the games live! PLus they have better commentators!

Was disgusting. Chose to air some stupid B grade movies til 3pm instead.

What a load of CARP!!!

A petition should be started and sent around the state for it to be changed!!!!

Bring back live footy. I dont care what its on but it has to be live

I understand their reasons when they show a foxtel covered power/crows game, but when thats not the case its a joke!

What i dont understand is when this occurs on a saturday, when c10 have the rights, and they choose not to use their ONE channel at all. They could have both games going at once and get damn good ratings. its a load of carp!

Think Federal Laws prevent them from doing that for the transition to digital tv. I agree that once its all up and running that is what they should do.

I think all footy should be replays at 7 o'clock every saturday night, like it used to be when we were youngsters

At the moment each week, there are 4 games on FOX and 4 on FTA....from 2012 when there will be an extra match each week, is it FOX or FTA getting the extra game?

My personal preference for that 'extra' game is a second Friday night match, have 2 on Friday night like Saturday night. Whether it be 2 on FTA or one on FTA and one on FOX.

I'd think it would be on Fox. The FTA networks don't want their games clashing with each other.

I notice channel 7 are doing Richmond vs Sydney LIVE at 1.30pm on Sunday. Not exactly a blockbuster so here's hoping they show live Sunday footy for the rest of the year.

Ch 10 not putting the game on live last night stinks just as much as Ch 7.

Was surprised to see that and did think that it was pretty tough for the kids outside of Melbourne that barrack for Brisbane or Carlton who were not permitted on a school night to be up past 10 to see their side play, if Demetriou thinks that this is the way to promote AFL football to the new generation of viewers he is very much mistaken. If C7 did not want to show it live then they should have been required to permit the feed to go live on C31 or any other station that wants it, as was the case with the Ashes tour, then if they want to put on their delayed telecast good luck to them.

Free to Air for me.
Just like any global/corporate business, the AFL has its hands in your pockets if you've got Fox.
Every time someone I know signs up to Foxtel, I want to punch them in the mouth. We'll all eventually be denied from watch our sport of choice for free.
I for sure won't go out of my way to watch AFL. Flick over to C2 and watch SANFL or give ya missus a top on the shoulder.
Cancel all your Fox contract's

The Duke, I don't watch Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday or any other day football when it's not live. Fox play games live, end of story! Why should we cancel Foxtel when we get what we want - live footy?

It's exactly those thoughts that won't allow my kids to have the luxury of watching free sport in the future.
The AFL is denying the next generation of footballers from the opportunity to be exposed to aussie rules and watch soccer etc enstead.
Would rather donate my earings to scientoligy, than let Dimetriou put his hands in my pocket.

So my problem and please correct me if I'm wrong Duke, is that I want to watch footy live? Wow, sorry!

My issue is that I have a problem with stations who delay games. The reason is because they get revenue from people who watch the stations who also take in advertising on those stations whilst on delay (advertising is the single reason it's delayed). If people don't watch the games delayed, they'll not get the ratings, not get the revenue and hence have to play it live (well that's my thought anyway, till proven otherwise). People who watch FTA and prefer FTA, good on them. I'm certainly not having a go at you guys, I'm saying, PLAY IT LIVE or be prepared to lose it! If they lose it, it will only be temporary because there will be a massive uproar and then FTA will HAVE to play it live. WIN WIN! In the meantime, I'll not watch FTA delayed stuff simply on protest, and I'll happily watch Fox while it's live. Someone WILL get the message eventually and FTA WILL play it live, even if it takes years to get to the end result.

Please note, last night I didn't watch the Carlton game even though I'm a mad Carlton supporter.

I did originally get Foxtel because Carlton games were played on Fox only (unless it was against an SA based side). Since then, things have changed, FFooty has gone, but the idiotic television rights continue. Till it's fixed, I'll keep foxtel (mind you, this is only 1/10th of the reason for Foxtel subscription, but that's another argument altogether).

But Duke, enjoy watching FTA delayed.... and I'll tune into safooty, net, see the results LIVE and move on making my protest in (not so) silence.....

PS. Duke you do realise we're fighting the same fight but from different angles? I want FTA, but I want it LIVE!!

$50 a month for Foxtel.
$50 a month for a mobile phone service.
$50 a month for the Internet.
.. and so on..
Every commercial operation wants their hand in your pocket at that level and it adds up - Resist!
