The Wiggles reveal new line-up and first female Wiggle after Jeff Fatt, Murray Cook and Greg Page retire

UPDATE: THE first female Wiggle is set to join the children's group as all but one of the original members announce their retirement.

EMMA WATKINS IS THE FIRST FEMALE WIGGLE AND WILL TAKE OVER THE YELLOW SKIVVY. SUPPLIED

Emma Watkins, a 20-year-old backup dancer with the current group, will become the new yellow Wiggle in a major shakeup.

Old hand band members Jeff Fatt, Murray Cook and Greg Page will retire at the end of 2012, making way for new faces who are all current backup dancers.

Anthony Field is the only original Wiggle who will remain as part of the show.

Not really .. Don't dislike Sam or anything, but Greg was one of the founders of the business that is The Wiggles .. Would have been part of their succession plan.

Will be interesting to see what the new group is like .. No doubt kids will still love them.

I reckon they will, they have taken the world by storm but as someone who grew up with the Wiggles, it'll be really weird to see them without Murray, Jeff and Greg, can't beat the oringinal gang.

Maybe not. Hi-5 fell off the radar once the original members moved on. Not in the least because the asian lass who replaced Kathleen wasn't half as hot...

It makes sense why Greg was brought back, doesn't it? One last go around with the original crew.
I wonder if Sam was in the original plans for the new line-up? And did his reaction to being asked to step aside end that possibility?
Ahhhh the intrigue.

Nah Hi-5 were better. LOVED Kellie...not much eye candy in the Wiggles. I think I was too old to appreciate them, and being early to mid teens when Hi-5 came out, I would watch them after school just for a perv

True, you're right on that point but the Wiggles are better performers, Hi-5 don't have any songs everyone knows and remembers.

It sounds like Greg's comeback at the expense of Sam indirectly lead to this bigger decision because of the apparent huge outcry about the treatment of Sam. I also heard the last concert run with Greg was not what like the Wiggles of old. They also cited Greg's health issues as a reason but my response to that is well why bring him back then?
