Amazing Race Australia

Postby Sploosh » Sat May 14, 2011 7:59 pm

Starts Monday night.

Will you be watching? I love the 'ordinary' US version, so will certainly give this Aussie version a try. I just hope thay've done it well, i.e. race design, production quality, choosing interesting (but not stupidly over-the-top) teams etc.

Should be interesting, will certainaly be watching. Some of the previews they have shown on the ads makes it look like it will be fairly similar to the US version.
Trust the process.

Looks interesting, and looks like it has similar production values to the US version.

Speaking of the US version, the final leg of the current US series is Wednesday night 7:30 on 7Mate

I love Myf Warhursts twitter tweet today:

"Contestants from the Amazing Race at Perth Airport. So far I've watched them film the same thing ten times. So much for reality tv."

Shit.

Bowler has the personality of a enema.....

Were the "models" driving around in a car with FTV number plates at the start ?

So far it's great. Grant is no Phil though.

Go the farmers, the surfies, the Big W girls and the poker bum and dog breeder.

Interesting we're not doing the speed bump for non-elimination legs, rather going back to the (I think) US season 8-11 rule where the team that finishes last in a non-elimination leg has to finish first in the following leg or incur a 30 minute penalty.

I really enjoy the US version and have watched every series but I was totally underwhelmed by this version. Could they have dug up a more arrogant bunch of people? Grant Bowler is so far below Phil. I will continue to watch to see if it gets any better but it would want to improve.

Don't know who who the latest us version. In our version it was a non elimination, but the two guys who have to stop and pray alot came in last.

Phil has had a dozen or so seasons to get good at it. Grant aint too bad.

That's what it's all about.
Very glad they sent them to the beach in the very first leg, wasn't too sure how long Sam and Renae would last, great to see them right up there from the start!
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

I think the current US season is season 18, so Phil's definately had alot of experience. While Grant was underwhelming, I still think he's the right guy, particualrly if they end up doing an annual series he'll gel and improve.

Good to see them start with a roadblock to spread the teams a little before the usual airport crush - nice idea. I was quite impressed with the quality of production - they obviously spent some money on this. Will definitely keep watching. Why do they subtitle to cowboys so much. They aren't THAT hard to understand, are they?
