Ads that are so bad, they're good

Postby OnSong » Fri Jun 18, 2010 12:02 pm

You know what I'm talking about, the ads on TV or radio that make you feel embarrassed to be watching or listening to them.
They usually emerge on regional television or radio, but I'm sure there are some metro equivalents.

For mine, the worst and most embarrassing I've seen, are the TV ads for Clare Valley Toyota, broadcast on Central GTS/BKN and Southern Cross Ten.
Not just this year's but in years gone by as well.

As for radio, there's an ad for a pest control business in the Riverland read out by the son of the business' owners.

Another radio ad that was just terrible that comes to mind is the "I love Onga pumps" ad.

Anyone got other examples of some deadset shocking forms of ads that have seem to hit their mark, for all the wrong reasons?

Tarn-Off

Drove me nuts as a kid.

But got a re-run late last year/early this year.

27 years on, retro novelty kitsch makes it endearing...

Metropolitan Plumbing, except it wasn't good, in any aspect!!

As a kid I used to like an Amico commercial, eff knows why as I can hardly remember it now ... Also the CLR Clear ads used to have me infatuated by how good that product clearly was (similarly with those Ginso knives that could cut through cans) :D

I also probably go against the grain here, but I thought the Shamwow bloke was pretty funny.
