Sorry to be a party pooper lads & ladettes, but I just don’t get Seinfeld.
I really tried when it started & occasionally since, but the guy and the material just ain’t funny.
Seems self indulgent, undisciplined and inane to me. Is there a sure-fire episode you can
recommend that I should try ?

My theory is….’If you like Woody Allen, you’ll like Seinfeld’. Of course, I’d prefer multiple
amputations without anaesthetic before watching Woody Allen & self-immolation before
listening to him.

Maybe it’s a generational thing where some of us are attuned to more classical styles of comedy
& themes. Maybe ‘Baby Boomers’ and above have been spoiled by the quality and quantity from
past giants of the 50’s through 70’s golden era. Hope I’m not becoming indurate !
Oh well, whatever ‘jabs ya jolly’ has gotta be good.
Don’t let me spoil your fun……play on !

Just bought the entire series in a pack for $148. I've got some watching to do.

Or you just don't like that style of humour

Like SABRE says...Woody Allen too...just not funny...but I'll cry with laughter at QI, Have I Got News For You, Bill Bailey, Eddie Izzard, Life of Brian and heaps of other stuff.

Each to their own ;)

Quality? Like the subtlety of Benny Hill? :) Or nine thousand six hundred and fifty three conseceutive Mollie Sugden 'pussy' jokes on Are you being served? Not everyone agrees on funny that's true but I don't get into Woody Allen but I can still laugh at Seinfeild cos it's Americans starting to take the piss out of themselves which was well and truly overdue. The Soup Nazi is a good one and the Summer of George is pretty good.

Like you said, play on!

Anybody else a fan of Larry David’s other creation, Curb Your Enthusiasm? When Channel 9 did actually show it, they stuck it at midnight and it has never really taken off here in Australia.

Brilliant show in my opinion. :D
