I dont read alot to be honest but I couldn't put that one down! Mrs knocked it over in one night and me in about 3. Was almost too stupid to be true.

Almost finished it. Interesting story, though could have been written a bit better. Thought it was a bit flat when the detectives were first trying to work out what had happened and where to start.

Just finished Unbroken: survival, resilience, redemption

Good book, slow start whilst providing information on Louis childhood and running career but once it gets into his war experiences and then being captured by the Japs its a fascinating read.

Couldn't finish it. Got as far as end of the war and his return home and basically gave up. No doubt a harrowing ordeal in all respects for Louie Zamperini, somehow the book just didn't keep me interested. Shrug.

About 1/2 way through. Enjoying it. Like most Grisham books it's a fairly easy read.

Have joined a site called goodreads.com which has great 'giveaway' competitions for newly written books. The aim is to get the winners to write a review on the Goodreads site and possibly Amazon. I have already received two books. just finished reading the first: 'Deadly Practice' by Bill Yancey... a very good read.

Two other places to find good books to read at cheap prices are at Oxfam Books on East Terrace in the city and also the Lions Bookshop at the bottom of Barr Smith Avenue (off Portrush Road) Tusmore Park. Almost all books at either centre are under $5 and each has over 10,000 books in stock, arranged in genre and then alphabetically.
Also, your money goes to charity.

I usually just use my kindle to read books now, unless I cant find a specific book on Amazon.

Having said that, Amazon isn't very good at suggesting books to read. Mostly I get the Mills & Boone ones suggested to me. Im guessing the main users of Kindles are middle to late aged women.

I have to actually know the book im looking for to find anything that interests me usually.

I currently reading Moneyball. I liked the movie, so reading all the inside info is very interesting.

One of the great things about Goodreads.com is that if you enter into it the books you have read, it gives you a comprehensive listing of similar books you may be interested in. This is updated on a very frequent basis.

I must admit to being 'old fashioned' in that I much prefer a real book over a kindle. There is just something about snuggling up in bed with a good book... for us confirmed bachelors at least!

Just finished Gallipoli by Les Carlyon. great read, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Now im strating 'Red Notice' by Bill Browder. A true story about Putin, the Kremlin and the criminal empire they are.

Very good. Certainly an extraordinary story, and a great man to come out of jail without any bitterness.

I bought Dead By Friday off the Kindle Store last night.

Sat up til 2am reading it. 75% of the way through.

Knowing all of the places that stuff happened really makes you feel connected to the story.

The Matthews home is 5 minutes away from my place (i think its been demolished and units put up) .

I finished City of Evil by Sean Fewster last week.

It looked at a few Adelaide murders, and other crimes, such as the animal cruelty charges laid against the Highams.

Very interesting, mainly because a lot of what was written about had suppression orders slapped on them at the time of the trials.

Once the suppressions were lifted, not much was made of the cases because they were in the past.

Very good book. Id recommend it.

I am currently reading Shattered.

Its a look at a murder case in the US involving a high school and college football star, who murdered his wife with a shotgun. The case remained unsolved for 8 years, before the arrest of David Temple in 2008.

About a quarter through it. Its still going through the victim and murderers backgrounds, and how they met.

So far pretty good. $6 on the Kindle store, so can't go wrong.

The Revenant, fur trappers in the early 1800s. One gets abandoned by the others after being attacked by a bear. Story of his search for those that left him and his desire for revenge. Soon to be a movie. Book too short for mine, good premise (story based on fact), abrupt ending. 6/10 at best.
