Those Telethons were good to watch as a kid. I remember the segment with the young girl "Come on Kylie, you can do it".

The only state that does the Telethons now is WA from what i can tell.

For people I don't want to talk to, I tell them that's my home phone number. I preface it with an 8 of course, but the gag (to me) is still there.

Can't really remember alot of moments that tickled my fancy but I have to say seeing the 'Amazing Jonathon' on there last night, that guy always gave me a great laugh as he did last night. Just stupid gags.... but right up my alley that sort of crap !!

Exactly. Darryl annoyed the crap outta me, but the humour, cartoons etc made me laugh, which is more then ANY other show on TV has done recently....

Watched the reunion and had a ball. It's not supposed to be sophisticated, thinking television - all very silly stuff that leaves you groaning at times but looked like the crew was having as much fun making it as the majority of Australian viewers seemed to have watching it (2.64 million viewers peak). Good way to unwind. The network still to decide if it will be permanent - as one expert said, "nostagia is a fragile basis to base a programming philosophy".

The Christmas Appeal though....a feature of childhood. Remember much of it as clear as a bell. "Johnny" Farnham a regular feature. Guests from the Ten shows at the time - "The Restless Years" common during their run. Garry Meadows hosting, guests doing stunts like push-ups etc to raise more donations. Started at about 8pm at night and reckon it ran until midday the next day, throughout the night. Always wanted to watch it right through, but never allowed to. Would be unlikely to be ever seen again in that format, sadly :(
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

Geez we're a little bit over-sensitive to people dressing up and putting makeup on these days aren't we?

If people aren't allowed to do this, then there is something wrong with the world.

One of my favourite Red Faces acts.....Whispering Kamahl ......wouldn't have got a gig!

Time for us all to take a deep breath and regain our sense of humour.

How else are you meant to impersonate the Jackson five? Wouldn't really have worked without the make up...

Regardless of the 'Black Faces' incident, I found last nights show labourious. I watched nearly the whole show in anticipation of a classic comedy moment, but it never came.

Last weeks show was a reminder of how good HH it's S was in it's hey day, this weeks show was a reminder of how tired and outdated it became in the end.

There's definitely a gap in the market for a family orientated variety show at the moment, but it shouldn't be Hey Hey.

It was a top show in its day, but its had it's time.
